Who we are

Carina, Jagko, Elizabeth, Jakhadte, LaoEr are five members of the Suan Lahu team who oversee daily operation of the farm and the Project.

Suan Lahu is a cross-cultural partnership and community project that supports the local economy and encourages the conservation of nature and culture among Lahu people. The farm works as a resource center for organic farming by combining traditional knowledge with sustainable methods, and in this way offers a ‘green’ alternative to heavy dependence on agro-chemicals. The project provides funds and manpower for Lahu preservation activities, including photography, documentary filmmaking, and the Lahu Bamboo Museum. In addition, we help support community well-being through scholarships and healthcare funds.
